Chicago Style Pizza(kinda)
I was kinda homesick today, not for the hellacious blizzardy, nightmare weather, but for pizza.Specifically, Pequod's pizza.Pequod's is my end all be all favorite pizza.It boasts a flaky,buttery,carmelized thick cheese crust, and burnt cheese and sauce.It is a simply divine pie.Mine was ok. Why post the recipe, you may ask...well...if you live here in the desert where a good Pizza is like winning the lottery...you will think this is pretty darn good. Plus, I got a new pan today at Kitchen,Kitchen.
Pizza Dough
1 pkg pizza yeast
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2/3 cup warm water
1/2 cup canola oil
oregano
Mix above ingredients in a Kitchen Aid mixer with your dough hook attachment for about 10 minutes, you could do it by hand, but it would be a Royal pain in the butt. Grease pizza pie pan.Put dough in pan, top with tomato sauce, cheese and whatever else your little heart desires. Bake in Preheated 425 oven for 15 minutes.
That's low fat right? :-) Looks delicious!
